FOOD INSECURITY exists on South Whidbey Island. DURING 2014, we served more than 20,000 much needed, take-home meals. The prepared meals include a protein sandwich made on whole wheat bread, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables, yogurt, granola, hard-boiled eggs, milk, string cheese, trail mix and a home-baked treat. We accommodate special needs such as nut, wheat and dairy allergies. MANY CHILDREN IN OUR COMMUNITY receive their main meals at school. OUR GOAL is to provide nutritious, complete meals.
